To me, the lil59b is a great choice. Strangely enough... I kinda like that pickup.

Well, I have paired my Alt8 in an Alder bodied supestrat with a maple top with a Suhr Doug Aldrich which, to my ears sounds the closest to, you guessed it, a bit hotter Jazz.
TBH I haven't tried a jazz bridge in the neck but that'd be a good place to start if you want a bit more output. Otherwise the usual JazzN is a pretty great pickup and IMO, sounds a lot better than the '59 which I always found to be too warm and undefined.

Try an SH-6n Distortion but with an A4 roughcast magnet in it.

after trying out Entwistle HDN, i didn't liked it, too bright. went to my local SD distributor and JazzN is out of stock as well as the Demon. they'll have the JazzN next shipment and probably i'll buy it.

A2Pro pairs well too with Alt8 and it's a warm sounding pickup in the neck. Maybe it's available in your local store.

TBH I haven't tried a jazz bridge in the neck but that'd be a good place to start if you want a bit more output. Otherwise the usual JazzN is a pretty great pickup and IMO, sounds a lot better than the '59 which I always found to be too warm and undefined.

I plan on trying a Jazz bridge and an Alt 8 in my explorer.

I've got a JazzN with my Alt8 - the construction and materials are somewhat different to your V though

To the OP... I've used a JazzN in alder, ash and mahogany. It's is my go to.. For Metallica and Megadeth sounds, it is especially good. Not necessarily high output, but in the neck of all the guitars I've had it in, it is phenomenal..

to the second poster... SC sized... I have no experience except for my stock SC's.

A friend of mine put a 59/custom hybrid in the neck position of his Jackson Kelly with the Alt 8 in the bridge. They pair pretty nicely!

+1 on the Jazz. I wired mine with 1 meg pots and it sounds fantastic paired with my Dimebucker. Freaking phenomenal for metal and hard rock.
