Which neck pickup to go with brobucker?

I have 4 pups to choose from to go with a brobucker. PC, PG, 59, or Seth. Which would be the best match? In a les paul style guitar, for classic and hard rock through a jcm800 or blues deluxe.

Welcome to the forum.

The only suggestion on your short list that I would avoid is the Phat Cat. I have personal experience of the BB/PGN combination. Works well. For my tastes, the '59N would be improved by changing the bar magnet to AlNiCo 4. To my shame, I have still yet to try any Seths.

While I have not played a Brobucker, I did at one time have a 10k Alnico II Antiquity (User Group Day Pickup) in a Gibson Les Paul of mine. I'm not sure how close that is to a Brobucker or not seeing as how my pickup had a degaussed magnet. I had it paired with a Seth Lover and they were perfect for each other. I thought the Seth was a lot warmer, and it went very well in the neck slot with my 10K Antiquity.

I paired the BroBucker in the bridge of my LP Traditional with a Seth neck. Sounds great, and balances with the output of the BB very nicely.

Seth it is then.

PG will be used in another guitar soon (either PG/PG or Custom/PG), PC in a tele, and 59 goes back in the drawer.
