I still couldn't decide which od/dist to get because they're unavailable here and I can't directly test them...I really need your help guys, currently I'm using line6 DM-4 stompbox into a 79' twin reverb using a dynacomp for boosting DM-4,I can get warm&full OD tones so no problem there...I just want a good quality pedal that gets me a mix of OD&Dist...I wonder if I should get a pedal with a real preamp tube in it if it makes a huge difference than IC ones?my playing style is mainly (hard)rock&blues...I'm not much into metal etc...but I'd like to get metallica & guns'n'roses tones...so which one could suit me best???

A modded tube screamer is the most versitile and probably best OD around. The Analogman Beano Boost is technically a booster but it's a Dallas Rangemaster clone. It has some killer tone man. Go to www.analogman.com and click the link to Beano Boost, and scroll down to the soundclips. *licks chops*

The Ibanez Tube Screamer still is my favorite all around problem solver in a pedal....A modded one that is...LOL

I've never tried any Boss OD's, how do they compare (modded, obviously) to a TS-9?

None of the Boss OD's actually sound or act like a Tube Screamer...The SD1 is "sought of" close circuit wise but it's crunchy and tight compared to the TS line...Even the Boss Blues Driver has it's own sound...

On my board I always have a DS1,A TS808 or TS9,and a Marshall Jackhammer..I also own a Boss SD1 but I don't care for it as much as these other pedals...I can cover alot of ground with just a DS1 and a Tube Screamer....The jackhammer does some cool Marshall crunchy things our music needs also..
