which pedal?

friend needs new distortion pedal for metal (think metallica/ iced earth). which is good? the amp he is using is a marshall mg250dfx 2/12 combo. he is using a gibson explorer soon to be with bill lawrences. probably in the 100-200 u.s. dollar range. thank you.

he was looking at the tonebone classic or the british. are these any good for metal? or maybe a mxr doubleshot distortion but get true bypass put into it. heh? HEH?

The Hot British will get him more into the hard rock/metal terrirory than the Classic... that might be your best bet.
