Which pickguard for my jazzabilly box?

Hi all
I have a Cort Yorktown BV. It's a nice jazzabilly box, I installed Gibson classic 57 PAF reissues and it's sounds great.

Not sure about the pickguard. Should I swap it for the plain ES175 pickguard?

Here it's sparkly one that it currently has:

And here is the ES175 it's a bit longer and would require a new hole which would be visible if I went back to the old one hence my hesitation, but I think it looks more classic:

I much prefer the yellow, and the fact that the contours on the black don't match the guitar would bug me. It's way too close to the cutaway.

If you really want to do the black, I'd either buy some pickguard material and trace the old pickguard, or find someone who can.

Silver sparkle... same size as the yellow

I know what you mean but there are quite a few Gibson ES175s where there is that same mismatch where the end of the pickguard meets the cutaway

Are we talking Gretsch? Will it fit as these are humbuckers? Or is there a Gretschbucker pickguard?

Really dig the yellow - now you need a pinup sticker in yellow also, and maybe some yellow dice knobs.

I'm not sure about any of that... I was thinking more about getting the material and cutting it.

Which pickguard for my jazzabilly box?

Well, with a sharp serrated blade, 240 grit and a block I got the contours right just needs the holes drilling to match my existing pickguard and the film removing - its gloss black. While I like the yellow sparkle I don't like the shape and I prefer the Gibson classic look over the Gretsch style glitter. At least it will be a completely reversible change with no extra holes in the guitar.

Go to Walmart
Get contact paper in kitchen decoration
Whatever color you want

Stick over pick guard and trim to fit

Try a few

This is the correct answer to any question with 'jazzabilly' in the title.

I am liking the black but I have adjusted the pickguard to use the existing textures so I can return to yellow sparkle

Which pickguard for my jazzabilly box?

Came out looking awesome!

Thanks

I always thought the batwing yellow sparkle was borderline tacky and really liked the look of these and was set on that look, although I preferred the black to the tortoiseshell on the ES275.

While a lot of reviews link the Cort Yorktown to Gretsch ( Cort do make electromatics for Gretsch ) in my opinion it's more like an ES275 but with a bigsby
