Hi everyone,
I own a Gibson Les Paul Studio manufactured in 1996. I bought it secondhand 5 years ago. I would like to remove the stock bridge pickup (498T i think). The musical style of my band is mainly hardcore like Unbroken, Culture, ... But with influences of Darkest Hour, Killswitch Engage.
I would like a pickup which has more output than the stock Gibson pickup which can produce a KSE, Darkest Hour alike sound but with enough mids and treble to suit the Unbroken, Culture sound. My amp is a Framus Cobra through a Framus Dragon Cab, so my amplifier has a lot of gain. A friend of mine recommended a JB because with my hi-gain amp I wouldn't need a Distortion or an Invader.
Does anyone have some suggestions which pickup I should choose to suit my sound and why? Maybe I combine it with a neckpickup, I thought about the '59 to combine with the JB.
Thx in advance
Maarten
