Which pups in lester #2

Hi, I have two LTD EC400ATs. One has a Super D/Paf set which is staying put. Pups i have available for the other one are:

59 set black
PGn black
Custom black
Distortion black
Air Classic set cream
Prails set black

Mainly playing hard rock and late 70/early 80s metal through a JCM800 4010 (50w single channel 1x12 combo) with a tube screamer clone and/or a dist+.

I also have nickel covers for the duncans. I didnt like the stock 59 neck in this guitar, but did like A259. I didnt like a slash A2P set either.

Lead contenders at the moment are air classic set (mainly for the looks if I am honest), Custom/PGn under covers, Distortion/prails neck uncovered wired for coil swaps and series/parallel/p90 for the neck.

What would you do?

Put that Custom bridge and PGn in there and go out and rule the world =).

Re: Which pups in lester #2

Yeah, +1 for the Custom/PGn. I'd start there, then maybe go Custom/59 if you want the neck fatter. Then if you're smart, utilize any magnet you have in those sets.

Maybe Custom 5/PGn. One of my favorites.

Re: Which pups in lester #2

Forget about the Custom.

PGn. '59b (with A8). Or P-Rails in the bridge with a Triple Shot so you can enjoy the wonders of the P-90 in addition to the other settings of the P-Rails.

I have two Les Pauls, one with a PAF/SuperD, the other, in terms of what you have, the closest thing would be a 59/Distortion.

And I can play the stuff you are doing all night long woth those two.

A PG/Custom wouldn't be a bad choice either. Really, the type of bass you want in that guitar should make the difference between the Distortion and Custom.
