Which Seth is hotter?

Re: Which Seth is hotter?

Not sure about the Ant, but the 50th anniversary Seths are a little hotter than the regular Seths. Nice sounding pickups that have that little extra oomph.

I wonder if oomph is in the dictionary? LOL

Re: Which Seth is hotter?

the Anniversaries were a little hotter

don't know about the Ants, but you might be able to find specs on the main site

Re: Which Seth is hotter?

Thanx. I don't know if oomph is in the dictionary either, but that's what I'm looking for...a smooth PAF with a little extra oomph. hehe

Re: Which Seth is hotter?

Now I've gotta' wonder what the difference would be in the sound of an A2 vs. an A5 in an anniversary Seth. Anyone know the answer to that one?

Re: Which Seth is hotter?

Going strictly by the specs, it looks like the DC resistance values of the anniversary Seth and the Antiquity bridge are extremely close. The antiqutiy neck has a slightly higher resistance than the anniversary. I'm leaning towards thinking the antiquity is the better choice, since it has unbalanced coils and seems to be a labor of love for Seymour Duncan.

Re: Which Seth is hotter?

When comparing Ants to regular Seths (I've got both), the Seths seem to sound slightly hotter, but I'm not sure if that's because of the difference in the initial attack or bite that the Seths have.

Re: Which Seth is hotter?

the stronger magnet makes the normal seth hotter than the antiquitys and i assume the anniversary aV seths would be a little hotter than the aII but ive never heard the anniversarys

Re: Which Seth is hotter?

I've got the A2 50th Anniversaries, and they sound great to me. I think they're only a tiny bit hotter than regular Seths.....hard to notice when the numbers are that close.

If you want hotter, order a lightly potted Brobucker from the Custom Shop, and maybe a Pearly Gates neck in nickel. I think I know what you're after, and that's it.
