Which Seymour Duncan Should I Go For Now?

Sometimes I like to think of English as a second language. :oo

Just your overall opinion of the Jazz in your Starla, however you have it configured.

I meant the Jazz reviews I have seen are 50% like it, and 50% don't. I have been liking my Jazz since 1983, but I see others not liking the Jazz and favoring a '59 or an APH-2.

I believe it would depend on the guitar + rig. I have played 59's (old and new ones), APH-1, and APH-2. The Slash pickup set is very, very clear, cutting, vintage sounding, and would love to own it again in the future. Can't say the same thing for the APH-2 Bridge = it lacks output* I'll definitely write tomorrow and inform about the TB-6/Jazz configuration on my PRS. There's not much information online. Let's see how it goes! I love high gain tones, but I'm no metal player.

The Jazz is a very clean and clear pickup, with more treble than anything else. There isn't much bass or mids. If you need/want that clarity, it is a great pickup. I think it works better when you are using at least hard rock-levels of distortion- to me, there are better pickups for a very clean sound.

I noticed that! The Distortion and the Jazz makes a nice set. It's missing the 59' bass, but makes a good/balanced set. I would love to have a higher output, a lil' more bass version of the Jazz, but I understand why Seymour created this pickup. He wanted a ''clean slate'' pickup that sounded great, and to allow to it be controlled by the amp that you use, not your guitar or the pickup.

It's a good pickup, missing some bass like I wrote to Mincer, but it definitely has a signature sound, and should be part of anyone's guitar collection / pickup configurations. Please note that the Jazz will have to be raised higher, and the Duncan Distortion be set lowered for them to match. Loved the results I had using the pickup set with BIAS FX.

I'll turn my HT-40 in a few hours and give it a test drive there.

Please pardon the late reply! The car broke down on my way back home from the guitar tech!
