Which speaker for a Blackface Vibro/Dumble clone?

Re: Which speaker for a Blackface Vibro/Dumble clone?

Exactly! Was talking about them SED 6L6 Winged C's, especially because I'd have quite a high plate V, like 425V and all.

The build quality of JJ's 6L6GC's are quite cool as well. Could not AB them against SED's though. Like them JJ's in my JTM30 (which by the way I think as g12-65's inside :) ).

C, did you get across such a comparison (I mean SED winged C 6L6's and JJ 6L6GC's)?

B

I tried some JJ EL34's, 12AX7's and 6V6's and was pretty unhappy with them all so I stopped messing with JJ tubes, never made it to the 6L6's...sorry.

Thr Winged C SED's are the best, new, loud clean 6L6's i've tried yet. I use them in my Twin reverb and am realyl happy with them.

The regular SED's are not nearly as good IMHO...the Winged C's are the ticket.

I have two sets of TAD small botts and love em. Find them very warm and full, w/o mud. In my Ward's Valco head, they actually sound better than the RCAs that were in there. Those found a home in my Bassman....
