Which Tele bridge pickup do I have?

Wax potted, black string wrapped, flat pole pieces, smaller sticker on the back that says "A" and then maybe one other letter or number. Right at 6k DC resistence. Black and white cloth covered leads.

Thanks!

Hey there, that looks alot like my Duncan Broadcaster pickup, only mine has yellow and black lead wires. Hmmm....

Alnico II Pro maybe?

Does anyone know if the "A" stands for antiquity? That's what I was told. I can't find it listed in the FAQ pickup ID section. I also don't see the Alnico II Pro Tele PU listed there. Maybe that's what it is.

Anyone?

Re: Which Tele bridge pickup do I have?

not enough info, IMO

it is definitely a vintage type, from the construction

the APTL-1 is the only tele lead pickup that is even close to 6K, however the pic on the main site shows this pickup with a logo

I'd guess that it's likely the "A" is the initial of the winder, and the part you're missing is the identifying model letters which come before it

anyway, you can find more info on the different tele pickups on the main site here

Not enough info??? Pictures, DC resistence, description? What more is there? I already did the research on main site as noted in my original post. I need a SD guru here!

Re: Which Tele bridge pickup do I have?

Larry,
please note that I said the APTL-1 is the only tele lead at 6K - just check the Tone Chart

the Antiquity is nowhere near 6K, nor is any other tele pickup - they're all above 7K

but I still have some doubts - no logo, and no 'for sure' model identifier

my best guess is an Alnico 2, but maybe you should hear it from a guru ;)

is this something you've bought, or something you're bidding for on Ebay. If it's something you own, take a better pic of the top and bottom

Re: Which Tele bridge pickup do I have?

Bought it on eBay. It's already installed and sounds great by the way. Fairly smooth sounding which tends to make me think it is an Alnico II Pro. No logo isn't a perfect indicator with older SD pickups. I have an older Jazz neck pickup in my Les Paul Custom that does not have a logo on it.

Someone must know what it is based on the first letter "A" on the sticker. I concur, it's probably the AII pro.

Thanks!
