Building a partsocaster Tele; I'm leaning towards black. What you like?

Re: Which Tele pickguard?

The problem with "parchment/cream" is that parchment is usually closer to white than it is to cream. So, I'd vote for "parchment," but not for "cream." And I'd go with Fender's parchment in particular, as it really looks almost white...just a tad dingier. Most other parchment guards are a bit more sickly yellow, like above; that's never a good look IMHO.

Re: Which Tele pickguard?

Something like this is what I had in mind. Its a road worn body so it will have a relic look to it.

Re: Which Tele pickguard?

Gotta vote for black, then. A worn, lacquered Bakelite Callaham guard would look sweet.

Re: Which Tele pickguard?

How would a tortoise shell guard look? I'd also consider aged white ( as opposed to parchement).
I have a cream Tele guard you are welcome to. Just pm me.

Re: Which Tele pickguard?

Tortoise was never my thing, but its something to consider. They look good on sunburst Jazzmasters.

Re: Which Tele pickguard?

Honestly, not loving any of them.

Class it up: Black 3 ply

But of those shown, black

Re: Which Tele pickguard?

The black makes the black in the burst pop. I also love the HH setup, very SD.

Re: Which Tele pickguard?

To me, two-tone sunburst equates with Fifties Fenders. Rosewood 'board suggests very late Fifties. Hence, single ply white, five screws.

I would vote Rob only it isn't offered.
