Which USB audio interface? Behringer, steinberg?

So- time has come to order; an USB- audio interface; for using my PC as a "home studio".

I already got a mixer with good mic-pre's; though having two balanced inputs on the front of the "card" is neat. Aswell as phones, level, etc.

I can choose between Behringer and Steinberg's, almost similar specced models. I think i want the Steinberg though, even though it costs a bit more.

Heard not-good things about the Scarlett, also it's much more expensive.

Your 2c?

I can mention-

I will be using headphones; a pair of Beyer Dynamic 770pro's, as I don't have monitors. These require a "fair bit" of headphone gain, as they're not overly sensitive.

Microphone is a large, heavy TSM, condenser.

Mixer is a Behringer Xenyx 1002, 8-channel with phantom pre's, very nice. I'll be using it as my "hub" for connecting various instruments, mics, inputs, drum machine etc.

:D

..maybe the interface comes with some software; i think a "light" verision or trial. Atleast I do have Audacity; and don't really need advanced vst¨s and so.

As long as the latency is low; no glitching, etc.- I think I will be fine.

I am pretty happy with my Steinberg UR22C. Sounds very clean, and does exactly what I need. I don't use a mixer, as I only record one thing at a time.

I have a Clarett 2Pre, absolutely no complaints, Thus far I couldn't load enough plugins for it to produce audible latency.

By the way this guy has some crazy consistent and scientific reviews of interfaces on his channel, among them multiple Steinberg models:

Okay-

Due to slight issues (with refurbishing my apartment)- I'm considering waiting with ordering- until next paycheck the 19th.

I need to replace the switch (that is broken) in my Peavey Raptor Plus,
also new guitar strings; and various stuff.

So, then I got a month to practice and prepare aswell! :)

I will report back on which interface; i end up getting. And how it works.

Thanks alot! \m/
