Which Vintage Humbuckers would you recommend..?

Hey guys; I have recently come to fall absolutely in love with the tones i'm hearing from vintage\PAF type pickups. I don't have any myself, but I love all these clips I'm hearing. they just plain sound amazing.

Here's the problem; I play in a band that plays groove\thrash metal. Think Megadeth circa 1992-1994. I have two LTD 2-bucker guitars. Axxion and DV8-R. they're the perfect guitars for me in terms of neck and such! And i'm in love with both of em'. Right now the Axxion has mustaine livewires and the DV8-R has JB\Jazz set. I really love the JB\Jazz set but it still seems a little hot to get great cleans and bluesy tones.

OK enough back story: I'm really enjoying the tone of the 59's, and Seth Lovers.. that's for my own tone, like hwen I'm sitting around the house playing blues and classic rock. My question is, can I just pump the gain and still be able to play the thrash thing with them? I think that would actually sound even better, like more character, then if I was thrashing about with full blaze pickups like everyone else.

What do you guys suggest?

PS i forgot to mention i'm the lead guitarist.. think marty friedman (although i don't want to copy anyone's tone, I meant my role in the band).. so I need to be able to do that pretty well too. I need a fair amount of sustain and lots of "character!" since character\paf tones are the best to me

by the way; I won't want both guitars to have the exact same pickups, I want them to each have a bit of a different character :)

I have never played a seth, but 59s and PGs can get downright mean. Give one a shot.

i think a PG is actually a little too hot, 59's are cool as hell though.. I like the extra trebly and super "character-tone" of the seth.. is that cuase it's not waxed?
