Who did the copper flamed Tele?

Hey guys,

A while back (back on the old boards) someone on this site had a Tele painted copper with red flames (if memory serves). Who's is that, who painted it, and what is the copper? Is it the Fender Coppertone Metallic? The metal flake seemed very pronounced. That, I think, is the color I'm going to have my SG project finished in.

Thanks

Re: Who did the copper flamed Tele?

Awsome, that goldish-copper metal flake is exactly what I'm looking for. That's a beautiful Tele, Wattage. Would you happen to know the brand and the paint code(s) for the copper and the metal flake? That'd be greatly appreciated.

Re: Who did the copper flamed Tele?

Ive seen it so many times on this board, but taht is such a beautiful paint job, and i bet its 10X better in real life.

Re: Who did the copper flamed Tele?

I LOVE this friggin' Tele.....must be why he ducked me when he came down to S. Florida..........I promise I just wanna' see it!!!! hehehehehehe

Check out the machined knobs & toggle......is that BADA$$ or WHAT????!!!!!

And no Rhythm/Treble selections....you've got Smokin' & Burnin' :smoker:

Watts, what p/u's ya' got in there....is that the one w/the BG1400/'59n combo? What's a BG1400 ?

My paint question still stands...

But additionally, where are people getting these switch plates? This has "smokin'" and "burnin'" and I've also seen "Holy" and Unholy". Where are you guys getting these? They really are something else.

Re: Who did the copper flamed Tele?

The guitar is actually orange with red orange flames. butnut (Brian) has a tele that is coppertone, I think his is a vintage Schwinn bicycle color. Mine is House of Kolor Kandy Orange and Kandy Red-Orange I believe, over a silver base with holo-flake.

The donuts Brian does when he has some time, he uses regular plates and letters them then shoots a clear over them to seal them up. He also made the custom control plate on that Tele to accomodate the donut and the LP 3-way.

The pups are the BG1400 and the 59n. The BG1400 is an SD Custom Shop Billy Gibbons Tele pickup, full output is about 29k tapped is about 14k. Needless to say it is a fairly hairy pickup!!!

And yes it is a tribute to all those sick '60s rods with massive flake jobs especialy those done by Ed "Big Daddy" Roth who both Brian and I consider the King of Kustom Kulture.

That thing is so nice! It's starting to bum me out, because I just sold my silver sparkle G&L Z-3. That orange flame is sick. The reverse strat headstock just tops it off. :smoker: :smoker:
