Who has played the PRS Mira?

Re: Who has played the PRS Mira?

.........and?

Very nice. One I played was marvelous. Great piece of mahogany. I'm starting to think I prefer PRS WITHOUT the maple cap. warmer, but still have plenty of clarity.

I'm not crazy about the original style PRS body or the pickguard (from an aesthetics standpoint), but I felt it was well worth the cash. Very good value.

Apparently the Mira pups are the 245s without covers.

Re: Who has played the PRS Mira?

oh...it's essentially a 24 fret SG.....but...cooler looking...and probably doesn't have mad neck dive.....hmmm interesting.

Re: Who has played the PRS Mira?

I don't like the sound of the demo at all -- too muffled -- but I agree it's a very cool-looking guitar. Tone trumps looks, so I'd have to hear this live before making any true assessment.

I'd probably want to drop P-90s in that.

Sort of what I felt, though 24 fretters always seem to feel a little bit off to me. Sounded great though.

Re: Who has played the PRS Mira?

Those PRS demo videos quite frankly suck. BAD.

EVERY guitar sounds muffled, and well the guy playing them leaves alot to be desired.

In person the Mira sounds nothing like that.

IDK if there is one of the MIRA, but the demos Paul himself did for the 245/250on youtube are EXTREMELY accurate representations of those particular guitars.

I would describe the Mira as a warmer, less biting McCarty. Similar to the non maple top McCartys.

+1 on all accounts. I found myself not really diggin' the McCarty Std. as much as I thought I would (the all mahogany body makes it a bit too dark for my taste, I like having that bite/ that edge you get with a maple cap). I guess different strokes for different folks.

Re: Who has played the PRS Mira?

Honnestly, for the money, I was not impressed. There are a lot of PRS models I would take before it.

Re: Who has played the PRS Mira?

+2! In my opinion, it was NOT an impressive guitar, in any way. I've played some $500 guitars with better necks and feel and, hell, overall sound in general. Any other PRS, I'll take, but not the MIRA. Unless I won it or something because, you know, free guitars are always good.

Mira, Mira on the wall,
You don't have any balls at all.
You don't have the tone I'm after.
The sound that you create is laughter.

That's what I figured when I saw the price tag. It looks like an SE...

My thoughts too. a very expensive SE. For some reason, PRS guitars just dont gel with me. I love the look of the older ones (dont like the mira) but they just arent comfy to me and for the price, dont impress me.
