On the plus side you can make samores while it burns, the plastic might ruin the taste though.

I've toasted a few. Still have both. FWIW, a blowtorch is the best way to do it decoratively. Keep the phrase "less is more" in mind, as well

I haven't ever set it on fire but...my 1983 '62 RI was routed for a JB (later a Distortion) & Kahler tremelo. Now when I look back on it, I'm not too proud of that. It sounds good with the stock pups back in it today but the Kahler still looks out of place/time. Has to be a close second to fire damage.

Also, it looks better if you get rid of the glossy finish first.
It'd also be a good idea to spray it with clear coat when you're done.

Fooling around with a plywood Kramer body in my back yard as a teenager i had soaked it in paint thinner and lit it up.... the flames while invisable!!!!! You could see the paint bubbleing and i almost burnt the tree down that the body was hanging from... i had to get a hose to put it out...... crazy stuff!!!

don't forget extremely dangerous, and could land your butt in jail......
when i lit my Kramer body on fire i was going to strip the paint off it anyways...... i had painted it with spray cans and the paint was extremely soft!!! Still gummy after months.... i soaked the body in paint thinner and then the devil in me said lets light the thing up.... it just burnt the forearm area a bit but the side effect of setting it on fire was so funny!!!!
The flames hardened the paint up!!!!! the forearm was a little black but the rest of the bodies spray can gumminess was hard..... i left it the way it was and played it for a few more years

The short-lived BSB series (Burnt Stained Blue).
The Satrianis were much nicer; they at least had a thicker coat of finish over them to protect it.
