Re: Who Has The Best Artist Signature Strat?
I dislike "Best" threads, as they are like "hottest" woman questions. I mean like, who's to say? It depends on what your preferences are, and how and what you play. I've owned a few, and my early production Custom Shop Robert Cray is incredible. The pickups are killer, the neck is thick, and the craftsmanship is flawless. Great guitar, but some folks dislike hard tails, and prefer a trem. One post already mentions the Sambora model with the Floyd Rose, which would be a red flag for me. I just wouldn't want a locking trem guitar. I currently am gassing for a Eric Johnson solid body with a rosewood bound neck. I've always wanted a Danny Gatton Tele, which are friggen awesome as well. I should have bought one back in the day when you actually saw them used for a decent price, those days are long gone. So I guess my vote goes to my Robert Cray, but honorable mentions for Gatton, Johnson, and my SRV is pretty good too. Another big neck, and I love the tall frets.
