Re: Who has the craziest guitar here?
......well, I'll take a stab at this one.....All of my guitars are either '81 to '84 Ibanez DestroyerII's or my '89 Explorer and although they may not be the wildest looking ones.....all of them share a unique aspect to them.....To the best of my knowledge, I am the only person who actually uses a custom made footswitch to actually switch pickups (including coil-taps) in my guitar...
..let me explain.... since the band I play in has a rather large library of tunes we play...my selection of tones is large but pretty simple....clean/OD, chorus, reverb, volume boosts and the many differing degrees of tones from two SD SH-6's....and a Marshall 2210...(slightly modified..).although this may not seem like a lot.....Some of the tunes we play require a little more "toe-dancing" than I can really pull off....
switching PU's/coil taps (which I use extensively), chorus, reverb, channel's and volume boost are a feat in and of itself with conventional footswitches...
So I perfected a way to switch any and all parameters (limitless) in any configuration needed with one switch to simultaneously switch tones....
My guitars have two relays mounted in the control cavity, a 5V and a 12v relay...using a stereo TRS cable from my guitar to the amp, I can switch between the two most common setups I use (Full HB neck & tapped bridge and full HB bridge....bypasses the volume control completely!), this way I can go from a rolled off OD tone to blistering solos and right back to where I was just by hitting one switch... and I never have to stop playing at all...
(edit)..sorta forgot that the guitar controls function as always unless one of the relays is activated....if you just plug a regular cable in, it's the same as from the factory..............makes slightly more sense
I'm pretty "old school" and don't use modeller's or MIDI...just my own solution for performing better!

...allright, no making fun of the "old guy"...... :blackeye:
