Who here has installed double row hex poles in a standard bucker? Out of you folks that have, have any of you tried the Full Shred bridge and also the Custom 5?

I noticed something interesting, I just changed the full shred in my LP with a C5 and it sounded similar to the Full Shred. I am sort of wondering if the Full Shred may be very close to a C5 with hex poles in it? The Full Shred sounded a little more cutting edge where the C5 sounded a bit more classic. They do read about the same on the meter (give or take) and they both have A5 magnets. I wonder if just the hex poles alone would make that difference in tone? Hmmmmmm???????

Bump!!

If the Full Shred is a bit more "shrill" than the C5, you may be right. I swapped the oxide caps on an Invader for hex poles, and that's basically what it did. Also, I disliked the tone of the Evolution, but liked it much better after replacing the double hex row with oxide caps.

how do you get the Slug poles out?

Becuase I'd throw 12 adjustable allen heads in my 500T and put it in my Strat.

^^^^ the way I do it is take the pickup apart, like you're gonna swap magnets, and push the slugs up from the bottom of the coil.
