Who here is using the Twin tube classic?

Re: Who here is using the Twin tube classic?

Yeah but getting the two setups seated next to each other, then I honestly think that the Fenders looses out on that sound?!?
I am of the old school here, I like the amps to make the most of my foundationsound, then just use the drives as added dirt, preferly with alittle voicing toward the amps in usage for that kind of sound.
That all Fender setup is too far off from anything British, too much fat lowmids and hollow out uppermids, it gets flabby and spiky in the wrong places and unfocused +a general lack of that Marshall glassy clarity to me.
I would look for an all British voiced amp, it would probally save you a great deal of compromising in your setup?!?

I love it with the Edana...never tried it with the Fuchs (it doesn't need any assistance in the OD dept  ).

I've got a Pro Reverb coming my way :D I'm interested in seeing what both the SFX & FDII do with it.

Allrighty.. I dig it. Only config I've tried the SFX-03 with so far is with my Reverend Goblin and it is just the ticket I was hoping for. Now I've got a 3 channel Goblin. Not quite as harmonically rich as the lead channel on my Kitty Hawk Quattro, but so much better than my SS stompers. I'll keep the American Woman for its unique squealiness and the Warp for drop tuned sledging, but the Twin Tube definitely gives me the classic rock overdrive that I just can't get with the Goblin alone. As has been said, it doesn't color the tone of the guitar much and has a lot of range -I like the sweep of the pots a lot. A bit of noise, but probably less than most tube hi gain pre-amps and not a deal breaker at all. I hate wall warts... but I'm sure keeping the transformer external helps keep the noise down. Gets a little warm, so you know the tubes are working. Groovy metallic bronze paint job.. much better looking the sales pics I've seen -they must have been early prototypes... very solid build. Did I say I hated wall warts ? I think I'll have to build a lightweight tray of sorts to hold it and the transformer so I can install an on/off switch and a standard detachable cord... ...back to work.
