I've always loved the natural beauty of a sunburst, it was a must when I bought my stratocaster. Before I even went out to buy one, I said if it isn't sunburst I'm not taking it.

And wa la, went down to the guitar shop and bought a American Series 2003 3-tone sunburst stratocaster.

So instead of a car, I bought a guitar. Well worth it, not regrets. Now she just needs some Seymour Duncans in her.

Now that is one awesome burst. I love that burst on a Tele, or a Strat for that matter. :fing2: nice.

I don't own a guitar with any burst but the Epi LP is transparent amber and has a little bit of burst quality to it. It's darker around the edges.

I like sunbursts, but all my guitars seem to be either black or trans-black for some reason...

I just bought a "honey burst" Epi/LP today(11/05/05). This is the first 'burst guitar I have ever owned! Classic Gibson's can be sooo awesome even with even the brightest/reddest of cherry sunbursts! Jimmy Page/Snowy White (Thin Lizzy) /Mick Ronson (Mott the Hoople/David Bowie).

"Burst" Gibsons ooze sex appeal. These even ooze richness just sitting on the wall.

I will give EQUAL billing to HAMER! I remember playing (not too well, at age 17) a Hamer Standard (Explorer body) that had a serial number below 300 with a burst finish! I still wonder who got that guitar. It had a retail price of $1200 1979-81 dollars.

The only reason I even got to play it was that the "geetar dude/salesman" had the "hots" for my older sister! :jester: This was one of those special guitars that was literally stored "in the glass case" and I guess he thought it would be advantageous to let me have a stab at that guitar. MF'r never did date my sister! :)

Sunbursts are cool. :)

I love cherry and honey 'bursts, the Gibson ones. Other than that it has to be pretty special. In fact, I detest all of the standard Fender bursts. (or any burst that goes to brown. :crazy: ) The crazy ones that go to silver and stuff are cool, and I guess a nice green/black burst over flamed maple is nice.

I hate Teles with cold looking sunburst. However, when they have a warmer burst with more red, they are beautiful (especially with black pickguards). And THAT tele is nice...

I love bursts, and even reverse metallic bursts....2 of Fender's rarest colors!

3-color on mine, next one will be a tobacco burst with a quilt top and matching headstock...rear routed too so you can see the wood...most strats are front routed and sometimes it's cool and sometimes it's not. It's cool for my 3-color because I can dress up the "plainess" with a pickguard or whatever...if the wood was really exquisite though there CANNOT be a pickguard on it regardless if it's a burst or not!......I guess what I'm trying to say is that I too LOVE bursts!:wave:

This is my Lag 'The Blues' Louisiane, I guess it's a Tobacco Burst but I'm sure Lag has some funky French name for it :rolleyes:

Not that i hate them........but since they are the most classic colour on a guitar i got bored of it..................it is the colour an 80 year old guitarist should play :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :burnout:

There are much better colours out there.........CAR (simply gorgeous and beatiful under stage lights.....with a maple neck....), LPB,............
