Who is that with Ace's new guitar?!?!?!

Aceman

I am your doctor of love!
While I give Mincer a hard time about hitting the gym so he can lift a Les Paul, he actually can!
You might note that the strap is adjusted for me, so Dave appears to be wearing it in Page/Slash position. I'm little taller than him. Just a little.....

There was a jam at a local rehearsal place, with some Dean guys, and I decided to take Irish out for a little run. Really loving this guitar.

It is actually lighter than I thought it might be, and it sounds fantastic when Acebob plays it.

I'm sure it would sound awesome when Dave plays it too, except that it hangs so low he can't really reach the frets well, and he has to donate most of his effort to holding it up and not falling over!

When I handed it to Dave his first statement was "Wow that's heavy!" I mean, Dave even scallops his fretboard out to save weight...

That is a nice LP. What's it sound like?

I was playing it on a Marshall DSL with B/M/T on 3/7/7, presence on 5
I was on the clean channel
It was going into my Mooer mini board using a Suhr Riot clone on "Tite" for Distortion, which w gain was only like 4.

All in all, the bass was pleasingly tight (but not ultra-time), the mids were punchy, and present highs without being at all harsh. I'd call it a very classic PAF style sound, with maybe a little extra oomph on the bridge (57 Plus)
- FYI, these pickups are close to what I want out of the Pearlies going in. Just they will be Duncan clear, with both brighter, punchier, and smoother sound.

Played some Power chord rhythms, played some upper chord hits, played a some leads, even played a little slide. As I intended, a good all-around Les Paul. We played KISS, Poison, ZZ Top, Zeppelin, Judas Priest etc. So all around classic rock stuff.

And, the entirely green back attracted quite a bit of attention.

I love that!!!

Is it just me, or is Dave's head too big for his body?

It's probably not JUST you, but it sounds like you need to take a photography class. Then you'll understand. (Multiple factors involved...height of lens/camera relative to subject, distance to subject, focal length of lens).

The green burst Les Paul with zebra pickups is a sexy beast.

Mincer's "apparent" head-size kind of matches this guy, so he's in very good company.

Exactly, iPhone at ~4' from my eye height, tilted down to get Dave's head, and the guitar, all in the photo. Again, note the amount of strap hang on an Ace adjusted strap.

I was hoping for a sound clip.

So wait...Mincer is a person in the real world? I kind of thought he just lived in the SD servers.... :)

Nice to see the actual people behind the screen handles, especially when they're having a great time.

OKAY, WTH? When I click on "latest posts" it tries to tell me there are only 2 replies in this thread. It's happening elsewhere, too.
