The look makes me giddy and I know a lot of forumites praised them on here as a great value initially but now that they've been out for a while, who still loves them?

got a bead on one in my local craigslist that I might not be able to pass up.

I got an SG Special 60's Tribute and it's my baby. Best guitar I've ever played, beats the snot out of any guitar 5 x the price.

I have a 50s Tribute that I absolutely love

I had to mod my trib50 to get the sound but got it now.

Modded mine too, Antiquities, CTS pots, Luxe Bumblebees, switchcraft jack and toggle, wired 50s style

Re: who still loves their Gibson 60's tributes?

I LOVE mine, but financial trouble at home are forcing me to sell it...

Goldtop 60s LP Tribute here. It's been my #1 all-arounder for about a year and a half now. I grab the Jazzmaster or the Hollow-body when I need those particular things, but 90% of the time, that <7lb, chambered, no-binding, not-a-real Les Paul is the best damn guitar for the job.

Totally stock, btw. Planned to swap out the pickups right up until the first time I heard them.

Mine's been modded too....all the wiring, bridge and tailpiece to Faber, pickups to a Wolfetone/Sheptone combo.
The wood/construction is good, and thats the heart of a guitar. As long as this part is sound, then the bits you hang off it can be changed/left the same as you see fit.

Only thing I don't like about my SG is that I can't afford a Vibramate-mounted Bigsby right now.
Here's a pick btw, her name is Mimi:
