Re: Who think Seymour Should Release a Neck CC?

At rock volume levels, a neck CC would be mud city IMO. Great bridge pickup though. There are already plenty of cloices of alnico 2 neck pickups: PG, Seth, A2Pro, Antiquity...not sure we need another one. Lew

Re: Who think Seymour Should Release a Neck CC?

I think the APII could be rebadged as a CC neck... it matches perfectly with the CC

Re: Who think Seymour Should Release a Neck CC?

there are plenty of options already. the jazz neck is a jb neck, they were made as set just have different names

Re: Who think Seymour Should Release a Neck CC?

I don't find any characteristics from the JB back into the Jazz though. The Jazz seems creamier, warmer and fatter, though the JB is more singing, has more mid-highs and harmonics. I'll agree with you they match, but to call a Jazz neck a JB neck would not be suitable IMO

Another vote for the JB neck, we've been talking about it since the old board when I first joined!

JB has a much different character in the neck too (warm and fat an creamier imo how you described)
Never played a jazz coz i didn't care that much about the neck position...
but when i listen to the clips the jazz seems to be the nearest from the character imo. If I have some money left i'll score a jazz neck and will tell you if I still need a JB neck model ;).

A Pearly Gates matches great in the neck with a Custom Custom. Just ask my PRS!

Hehe I have the combo in my Jackson USA Kelly (listed in my sig), but I'm really looking for the JB bridge pick up sound in a neck position, not a JB bridge in a neck position sound, pretty confusing :smack: . So my conclusion is, though I'm extremely satisfied with my Jazz I'd still like to have a JB neck. For the simple reason because I want to squeeze every drop of versatilly out of my guitars, so I'm not the person who'd buy a two pick up guitar and only use the bridge pick up, or use the bridge pick up for leads exclusively and use the neck pick up for clean exclusively

Each of the CC/PG or CC/A2P sets is a match made in heaven!

I can vouch for that! When I first built my Warmoth VIP, I had a CC in the bridge and PGn in the neck. The PGn sounded too much like the bridge CC to me, so I swapped magnets and put in an A5.

Re: Who think Seymour Should Release a Neck CC?

hej guys.. when you talk about the apII and o jazz.. i think you didn´t get my point here...
i mean, A MIDDY pickup just like the CC neck or a jb.
my only compliment about the Jb is its lack of bass. for the rest, i love it.
i´m planning, when i get MONEY, to buy a jb and ask someone here to swap teh magnet to me for a CERAMIC one.
i heard only good things about it
recapitulating the CC neck and JB neck.. i think that the Pearly gates is alittle Brittle, harshy, fuzzy.. Isnt IT?
but the SETH LOVER NECK IS AWESOME. and i think that the AIIPRO is the same as PL, but with less harshness than the PG.
what´s your opinions on this?

Re: Who think Seymour Should Release a Neck CC?

besides the a2p, pg and seth, i am guessing that phatcats will be a good compliment to the cc since its an a2 pup. anybody care to comment?

You're probably not far off the mark.. in my opinion, the Custom Custom sounds pretty similar to a P-90 anyways, so I'm sure they would compliment each other very nicely.

Re: Who think Seymour Should Release a Neck CC?

For a JB neck, why not just swap an A5 magnet in a Distortion neck?
Maybe an A2 would make that a good match for the CC?

Re: Who think Seymour Should Release a Neck CC?

i think we could do with a lil' custom, a lipstick tube type and a lil' jazz to match the JB jr. ;)
