who's got the best pot

Re: who's got the best pot

Hard to advocate Canadian when I live on Maui........:cool2:

I've always had really good luck with CTS.

Re: who's got the best pot

I've always been a fan of Red Point Colombian.

What was the question again...?

Re: who's got the best pot

I tried a YJM 250K pot and one of the lugs broke off after soldering it. Not as sturdy as a good ol' CTS pot........

Re: who's got the best pot

i checked out all of the above mentioned, thanks guys this gives me a good starting point as far as selection. i noticed some are real cheap, like 3 bucks, i saw one that was 25?!?!! must be the sh!t.

Re: who's got the best pot

CTS volume and tone controls. Bought a supply of fifty 250K split shafts, fifty 250K solid shafts and fifty 500K split shafts sometime ago and never needed to look elsewhere. CTS is all I've used for many years.

Been enjoying some awesome Triple Diesel for the last couple of weeks though.

Re: who's got the best pot

there are so many different ones, its hard to figure out which id need for a flat top guitar. what does knurled split shaft refer to?

Re: who's got the best pot

Knurled split shaft is like what strats use. Also used on my Schecters. What it refers to is that the shaft has a flat-head screwdriver looking split in it, and it's knurled for certain knobs that don't need set screws to fasten them onto the pot. Solid shaft pots are usually found in effects pedals and amps. Longer shafted pots are for Gibson Les Pauls because the get mounted through the entire top piece of maple wood, as far as I know.
