I think having a Bogner would force me to increase the magnification of my reading glasses. Sometimes, there can be too many options. Granted, your amp sounds pretty damn good, but it seems to be a steep learning curve.

Then again, GearHo, you will probably sound great like you do and the amp is only a small part of that. Try being great on a cheap-ass crate. That's the challenge!

Actually, I have fun shredding on Crates, the notes mush up so it covers my hand lightly hitting another string by accident. When your technique is covered up, you'd be surprised how good you sound! :laugh2:

And yes, the Ecstasy has been known to cause people to tweak for months on end, I could never handle that :smack:

On the Ecstasy, there's a few switches that you quickly learn, then several other features you may rarely ever touch. I agree that you won't get a 100W halfstack with Vin 30's and EL-34's to sound EXACTLY like a stable of P to P combos of all varieties, but the Ecstasy is literally an ocean of options. You really have to own one and use it for about a year before you KNOW it. The little switches on the front and back panel allow you to surgically morph that amp into anything you hear in your head.
There are about 9 ways (per channel) to tweak the sound in order to pinpoint a tone.
Reinholt has created a preamp section that is almost infinite in it's flexibility, and his power sections are dialed in to sound like a Marshall on 10, at ANY volume.
He worked a feat of magic with his original concept of the Ecstasy. I won't argue that there are other great, great amps out there that can beat a few tones on the Bogner, but none have rolled 10 amps into one, while still maintaining the 'real tone' of the single channel amps.

Funny thing is.....I put more hours on my Vox Valvetronix, since I play alone more than I do with the band at rehearsal. I can get some pretty nice tones out of that modeler, but nothing compares to the nut rattling roar of "Mr. Volume"

fender all the way. all great amps were copied off his amp that was copied off another amp(GE or RCA, it was posted earlier in the thread). So randall smith just modified the fender design to get his own.

It's easy to improve a design, but it's hard to be the first one to come up with it, and it so happens that Fender got it right the first time around when others were scrambling to make their 20th model sound good.
