Hey folks I need some advice. I'm at the dying stage of my project. A pine tele with a swamp ash top

I'm on the fence on whether to dye the top red and grain fill black, then do the back and sides black paint, or just do the whole guitar black with red grain fill. I'm leaning towards the red top with black sides and back but I don't think I have seen a body like that. What do you think?

Just removed the MDF veneer from the front and back of this one:

Will probably Tru Oil it and call it good enough. :D

I wouldn't even stain it, I'd just do some sort of satin clearcoat. I guess I just like the natural look of some woods. Or as Dominus says, Tru-Oil.

I'd do a weird thing to that. Make it a multi species guitar . Hole saw much/most of the body , and fill with about 15 different tone woods.

Got this roughed in late last night.....



it looks bit odd just like that but when you see it with the body it makes perfect sense. **** it i will go get the camera and take a pic.

Here is an extremely zhit quality picture of it for you all


At least at this stage all of the building part is done. A total of 8 items i had to turn up on the lathe,cut them out on angles, make templates for router and make them fit. Man its been a ****ing big ass job. Next i need to spend a good few days sanding everything.

Looking for idea on headstock fonts and or logos.

That's not the only bamboo font. There are others if that one isn't to your liking.

Ok ,got the cavities routed this weekend ,made a little test piece to see the best order to do things in,seems best order of operations is to route binding channel then glue on the denim and trim to shape before adding the binding - will add progress updates for you

I've been slowly piecing this one together. Still need to oil the body, put the bridge studs in, solder the electronics in, among other things. Waiting on a neck.
