Who's working on a build right now? Let's see your stuff!

**** yeeeeeeee. I love that idea. Wood becomes a heap cheaper in sizes like that. Could score a nice burl and still have an ******* after.

Scored an Ibanez Prestige neck in a sad state - cracked heel, binding missing, frets badly leveled.Decided to make a travel guitar with it - Paduak body, Mocked up with a dirty ol' Dimarzio but I have a SD I could put in it - Anyone tried a coil tap on a Dimebucker - how was the single coil tone?

BroMah How much bigger is the overall size compared to a standard s pickguard? Looks the samboes.

I've got Flamed Roasted Maple - smells delicious like Maple Syrup when cutting and routing

Squier Classic Vibe body (pine? looks like it, doesn't sound like basswood) & parts, Squier Mike Dirnt neck & tuners, and a handwound pup I got off ebay by pacnwguitars for $50 (wound to 7.7k).

So far, I'm digging it. It rings pretty well, but it's a touch neck heavy.

I'm thinking it needs a w/b/w pickguard...

Nothing here but i did score an impressive 2.5mt slab of rare black bean.

Re: Who's working on a build right now? Let's see your stuff!

new: an 'exotic' LP. Lots of ebony, purpleheart, walnut, wenge and mahogany (real honduras swietenia!).

Yup, the neck features 2 parts of ebony on a wenge core. Striped ebony board.

The cloth rags are there to protect the finish-in-progress (french polished shellac is fairly vulnerable until it builds up till a nice fair finish).

Re: Who's working on a build right now? Let's see your stuff!

1 piece maple top on 1 piece honduras mahogany back with a 1 piece purpleheart neck.

This sucker will get a Wilkinson by Gotoh trem with Planet Waves locking tuners and a threesome of Bill Lawrence L500 pickups (R, L and XL), with a 5 way blade on the upper bout and independant volume and tone controls.

This one's a Slimline: thinner top, thinner back but a full sized neck. Figured maple on 1 piece honduras mahogany back with a 3pc wenge neck with maple/bubinga/maple pinstripes. Ebony board. I'll give her a set of Prails in triple shots

Kramersteen, I look forward to seeing that black bean made into something. It has nice coloration.

Orpheo, nice work on those finishes. I look forward to seeing them completed. That triple L500 will sound great.

Thanks :) I'll post updates in this thread every now and then.. that set I'll install was made for me by Bill himself, all the way back in '10. They're so ugly-looking but they sound so amazingly gorgeous. I'll probably install one toggle somewhere to split the pickups all in one go cause my oh my do they sound great when split.

I have one of his original release L500's from around 1977. You're right about the sound. Three together would be outstanding. Split would be very nice. Have you also thought about a master series/parallel switch for the trio?

I had single/serie/parallel switches per pickup in the guitar I had it in first but i didn't care much for the extra tones. I simply wanna uh... keep it simple and clean. The top has to POP out and be the thing of notice.

Yeah, then a master wouldn't help that.

Decided to go with an Ash top on my X-type build
