I took her with me to band practice tonight and WOW do I really like these pickups!! GFS Gold Foil single coils matched set. The best way I can describe them is to say that they're very chimey and you can really hear the sound of the strings in them. Sound great clean AND dirty, and I'm very impressed!

Looks awesome and sounds like I'm gonna need to try a set!

Just curious and it may be the camera angle–do they not offer the bridge in Trem spaced?

Fine guitar, there. Those gold foils look good installed. Glad to hear they sound good.

Thanks!

...and no... just the one offering for the bridge pup. It fits perfectly into the pickguard, though (no extra space on the edges) and the trem is standard sized for a Strat, so I figured the spacing discrepancy was typical.

Thanks for the info! I've never had any issues with tone from the spacing being off...more of an OCD thing lol

When I found this guitar it was a mess. The term cavity had been routed further to make room for a cheap fastload Floyd knockoff.

Sounds like quite a chore you had there... Do you have any pics of it before or during the redo?

Started the next one, Indian Rosewood fretboard slotted to 27" & Wenge/Bubinga neck blank from my stash

That's going to be a beautiful neck. Do you have a body in mind to put it on yet?

Just the template in the pic, Will get Ash for the body tomorrow

a bright softwood body like Ash would NOT be a good choice for a very warm neck like Rosewood/ Bubinga/ Wenge. That just an opinion. That neck screams for Walnut, or something of the like.

Ups just delivered the neck and body for my next build. It's really outstanding in person.

Just finished one. Fender pups, Nitro paint, plays and sounds great. Going to try and sell and do another build...It was enjoyable and most importantly I learned a lot:

Thank you. I was trying to build a Tele that looks like the one you often see Greg Koch with.
The pups are Fender Standard Telecaster Pickup Set Neck & Bridge.

Got some Ash and started making the body

That's a nice piece of ash, ChAoZ. I like the offset shape of this body.

Grrrrrr...

Trying to get my Strat completed and I have a short somewhere! I had taken it back apart to fix a mistake in my wiring diagram (which is fixed now), set the pickguard back in place and tested all the settings by tapping the pups with a screwdriver... perfect! Put it together and there was a short. Took it back apart, found the short, tested by tapping again, put it back together and now there's another one! Fairly certain I know where it is but... DAMN!

If there's one thing I've learned about Strats it's this: pickguards are great compared to working in the rear cavity for the initial wiring, but they really SUCK for troubleshooting!

Doesn't help that I'm also trying to conserve strings, so I'm removing the bridge every time. Thinking it's time to go ahead and just re-string!
