Meet John Crawford. He's the inventor of Jack, a wi-fi transmission system with lower latency than Bluetooth, and better fidelity than radio frequency.

His Kickstarter campaign got his company off the ground, and tracking the progress will be very interesting.

A hexaphonic version of that would be interesting.

Line6 relay, Sony dwz, shure glx-d, sennheiser d1, etc. all use Wi-Fi fir audio transmission. So I don't see how this is new technology?

I think that it should be able to attach to a strap. It looks like that thing's gonna fall out of the guitar at any second.

While my Line6 Relay G50 is indeed transmitting in the 2.4GHz range, I don't believe it's using IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac as a transmission protocol, so it's not WiFi.

I don't see the draw of wifi as it probably adds latency. Saying it has lower latency than Bluetooth is like saying a new car is faster than a Yugo.
