Wilkinson Bridge Trem Arm Question

I have a Wilkinson bridge on my guitar. I think it is a VS-50. Unfortunately, it doesn't have the screw-in tremolo arm and so the are just hangs and is a pain to use. Is there an aftermarket arm I can get that has some sort of stabilizer built into it? I was thinking about using a threaded arm and then just tap the hole in the bridge but wasn't sure if that would do anything bad to the guitar.

Wilkinsons don't normally use screw in arms and so the holes arn't threaded. I have seen some import copies that don't have the set screw adjustment mechanism though. AFAIK, all Wilks use a push in arm with no slop. The set screw adjustments allows you to set the arm so it swings away freely or stays put. Doesn't yours have a set screw?

Thanks, LPB! To be honest, I don't know. I recall reading that before about the VS-50 but I forgot to look. Where would the set screw be? When I get home, I'll check it out. What sucks is that I lost the arm anyway when I recently moved so I'll have to order another one.

here it is... You need a small hex wrench to adjust it (sorry, not sure what size)... the screw pushes in a plastic ring that squeezes the arm. Screw it tighter for a more snug fit. Works great!

I just found out that there are some that don't have the coller. On these, the set screw is on the back of the block under the base plate. You must depress the tremelo all the way with the arm, and then you can find the set screw and use an allen key to adjust it.

SWEET! Yeah - mine doesn't have the collar. I'll look and see what's up. I'll have to order a new arm though.
