What´s the wilkinson deal? Does it really stays in tune? has a good wammy bar? With locking tuners u can do things u would normally do with your floyd rse?

If you are talking about the Gotoh/Wilkinson VS-100N like this one:

it's a fine piece of hardware. After intonation, the saddles lock down onto the bridge providing a very solid connection. The whammy bar screws into the bridge, so you can adjust the height off the guitar, and there's a set screw to control how easily the whammy bar rotates.

With locking tuners and a properly cut and lubricated nut, this bridge is really stable.

I've never used a Floyd Rose for more than a couple of minutes in a store. To me, the G/W looks better, is simpler, and does everything I need. I believe that there is better tone transfer too, but have not done a direct A/B comparison to prove it.

I have a wilkinson as well as two floyds. However, floyds and wilkinsons are different beasts in terms of design and what not. I have a locking set of sperzels with mine and it stays in tune and is very stable.

Re: Wilkinson bridge Vs. FLoyd Rose.

A WIlkinson will never be able to match the range and feel of a Floyd, but IMO sounds better.

THey both stay i tune fine (properly set up), but I´d say the Wilkinson is the "less stable" of the two solely on the premise that if it HAD the range of a Floyd it would be knocked out not so rarely ;)

+1

I might add that one of the nice things about a Wilk is that it's not locked at the nut. Any tuning tweaks can be made quickly without the need for fine tuners, or un-locking the clamps.

Re: Wilkinson bridge Vs. FLoyd Rose.

Hum, I have a Wilkinson and a Floyd Rose Ibanez Edge. The thing is... I have one guitar that I think it´s perfect for me (body, neck,...) but the tuning its awful. So i´m thinking about getting a locking tuner... Do u guys know about the planet waves locking tuners? I was thinking about buying one to my Ibanez AFS75tbl Artcore... And what about Bisgby bridge? My Artcore has one... Oh gosh, it always untune. :/ i know that it has horrible tuners.... if i buy locking tuners, it will resolve?
