Wilkinson WVC Pickups vs SD SH-1 PAF'59

Re: Wilkinson WVC Pickups vs SD SH-1 PAF'59

Welcome to the forum.

Of those two pickup sets in the white guitar, the SD '59s sounded better.

I followed on from your first video demo to some of your other ones. IMO, the DiMarzios in the brown sunburst JHS/Vintage LP clone sound better than either of the pickup sets demonstrated in the white guitar.

I would be interested to hear you perform similar tests using an Epiphone LP, LTD Eclipse or Yamaha Revstar. i.e. Anything Lester-ish in the £500 ($750) price range. I suspect that these would bring a noticeable improvement to your results.

Thx,man!

Sure i would like to test the Guitars you mentioned.............................. but.................................. i need to buy them therefore :onder:

Yes, the DiMarzios are very good as well. But its hard to compare, because the Vintage LP is waaayyyy brighter sounding than the Harley Benton. The Harley Benton is a dark and bassy sounding LP-Style Guitar but surprisingly doesn't lack any frequencies in a full mix. Very powerfull.

BTW: the DiMarzio you mentioned is a MoJoe and therefore is a lot hotter than the PAF '59. But is on par with the Wilkinsons.

A bit too white for my tastes. :(

Here is the comparison again.

Why? Has anything in it changed since post #1?

It's interesting how throughout all social media platforms the Wilkinson PUs in my above comparision are rated better than the Seymour Duncans. Surprise!
