Well they are lineing up fine, the thing is the poles are a little below the holes. I thought they were supposed to be a little above. Do I just need to push the bucker in more?

If I understand your question, then you just turn the pole pieces counter-clockwise to raise them.

Don't push too hard and make sure the slugs don't contact with the cover or you'll have problems. You're familiar with the installation process, right?

Exactly. The polepieces are screws so you can raise and lower them however you like.

Actually I'm not this is the first set of pickups I've bought, I was planning on having a luthier install them for me and I just wanted to make sure the covers fit. Unless the installation is fairly simple.

You would have to have some experience with soldering and some basic knowledge of guitar electronics. For now, let your luthier or tech handle it.

Others in here can recommend some books for learning about modifying your guitar's electronics.

Well I do have experince with soldering but since it would be my first time I'd rather do it on cheap guitar than my Les Paul. So i'll just have the luthier do it. Thanks for all your help guys I appreciate it alot.

I agree, I'd let a tech do it for now. I wouldn't attempt it unless you felt you could install the pickups yourself.

In the future, this tutotial from one of our forum brothers addresses how to install pickup covers. http://www.projectguitar.com/tut/barmagswap.htm

Hope this helps.

If you can solder you should at least try it yourself. If 'ya scew up the wiring then bring it to the tech...it'll probably cost the same in either case. It's pretty hard to kill a pickup unless you cut the coils with a screwdriver or something...just go slowly & carefully.

No fear.
