Will swimming pool routing fit P90's in the neck and bridge slots?

I've been debating putting a set of P90's in an MIM Standard Strat. Will the neck p/u slot accept a P90 without routing?

Oh it should work but measure how deep the swim rout is and compare that with the height of a duncan 90 on the website.

Hi -
Will a MIM strat accept a hum in the bridge position or does it have be routed as well? (Contemplating picking up a MIM Standard Strat).

Yup, the have the bridge routed out for a humbucker.

If it's real swimming pool routing (one big cutout from bridge to neck) I would think P-90's will fit. I do know that blues guitarist Kenny Blue Ray has swimming pool routing in his Strats and he uses P90's. Lew

Keep in mind that P-90's are bolted onto the body, not hanging in the pickguard. This necessitates some mods to the body. Personally, I'd just get a HH pickguard and use a pair of Phat Cats.

So, I'd be better off just tossing Phat Cats in, eh?

Will the MIM Standard Strat take a humbucker sized pickup at the neck. I know the routing is bigger than a single coil needs, but I can't remember if it's big enough for a bucker.

Nope, it'll need to be routed. I recommend forum bro theodie, he routed my MIM strat body for a humbucker in the neck.
