Will this be any good?

I am sick of dragging my ENGL head and 4x12"( and those stompers) to gigs or recording and not even come close to the sound I get at rehersals.

Now I am thinkin`... Sell all my gear exept for the 4x12" and guitars, and getting a BOSS GT-PRO(as a pre-amp) and some kind of power amp. This way I figure I can get the same sound everywhere, and a more flexible sound/effects setup.

Any suggestions on the power amp? What kind? Why?
And finally... The BOSS GT PRO is a good preamp choise, right?

Ummmmmmm no it's not a good idea

There has to be a reason it doesn't sound good at gigs? Maybe you just don't like the stage monitors.

ask your FRIENDS who have good ears what they think. MUSICIANS SHOULD NEVER JUDGE THEIR OWN SOUND. Have someone play our rig for you. On stage you often get the worst mix and idea of the sound. 20 feet from the stage is where you hear the best sound from the center. Many direct FX lack the immediacy and rich tone. You never really realize it til AB'd

you need good micing, good volume, good placement, and most of all - a good sound man!

I like watching video tape to get some ideas.
