Winter is Coming to my Mustang I

I recorded a cover of the Game of Thrones theme song using my wee widdle Fender Mustang I. Check it out!

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2918442/Game of Thrones (MP & FD) mix 1.mp3

Signal path is guitar -> Mustang -> Logic 9. No other gear involved. I did the usual compression and EQ in mixing that you'd apply to any guitar track, but aside from that everything you hear is the Mustang, including reverb and delay.

Guitar tracks, and the models used:

Clean rhythm: '65 Deluxe Reverb
Heavy rhythm: Metal 2000 (probably a 5150?)
Counter-melody: SuperSonic and a phaser
Lead low: Brit 70's (plexi)
Lead high: Brit 80's (JCM 800) and an overdrive
Shimmery harmony thing: '65 Deluxe Reverb and a pitch shifter

Fred, Coloured Animal's drummer, did the drum tracks on his V Drums.

I mainly did this as a demo of the capabilities of the Mustang amps, but as a song I'm very pleased with it. I might take another crack at the mix later.

Let me know what you think.

Re: Winter is Coming to my Mustang I

I love that show. One of the best opening title songs ever. Nice cover. Such a great song.
