Wire cutters for clipping guitar strings?

What do you guys use to clip the excess string? I had a pair of wire cutters/strippers that I got at Radio Shack, which lasted me about three years. When it came time to replace them, I bought something from Radio Shack that looked similar, but the material was way too soft and the cutting blade was way too dull. Definitely not the same as what I was replacing. Lesson learned: don't buy anything at Radio Shack...ever.

Does anyone have a particular brand that works well for cutting strings and stripping wire? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I use the planet wave string winder that has a clipper on it. I'm not sure if it works wire stripping, but it definitely works for wire cutting.

How come MICHAEL SCHENKER keeps his strings LONG, like 10" hanging of the end of his headstock?? ALL 6 strings...

For some reason I have always had the urge to bitch slap players that do that with their guitar! I hope it one day pokes their fockin eye out! It would serve them right!:chairfall

+1, Don't really know why but it's just annoying! The only person I've seen do that with style is Doug Doppler... his are fanned out and look cool.

FOr strings: anything available that is capable of cuting metal..

there are MUCH more important things to do that think for hours about the tools for a task that takes .5 seconds

+100... looks like ass, no benefit except that you can be lazier... if you wanna use that extra when one breaks at the saddle you´re ****ting yourself, because the bend at the tuner will essentially never stretch out correctly afterwards and will be weaker than the rest of the string...

LOL ... But in the process they hurt other people playing around them. I dont understand them they scratch thier head stocks and rip thier gig bags ext...

I use Planet Waves Pro String Winder/Cutter.. but honestly any wire cutter works fine.

I think mine is an old Jensen that I've had forever. I also keep a Leatherman tool around to be handy.
