wire stripers have a screw on the side that adjust how far you can close the 2 prongs and thus how small/large the wire you're stripping.

I had the same prob with a nice pair of strippers...that little adusty-turny stop wheel would not go down that far. I just ended up using the full-cut portion blades on those l'il strippers, and it worked fine. Heck, the insulation on those l'il wre is soo thin, even a decent hand and a pair of good fingernail/toenail trimmers would suffice. This would not work on the outer braid/jacket however.

He's talking about the Pro level strippers that come preset for various wire guages. I would have to check what size mine is but I Ideal makes a pair that
will do the job.
42 and 43 gauge is pretty typical though
