Wireless EMG Kit?

Re: Wireless EMG Kit?

that is a good price if those are the tone pots for the X series of pick ups...

Re: Wireless EMG Kit?

The selector switch and jack socket will always remain in the instrument. Everything else is fully interchangable.

Having tried the new EMG VLPF tone control, I am not massively impressed. Perhaps, the pot needed to be run in a bit to get it feeling right. I kept wanting to change the capacitor value. (This is, of course, not possible.)

One possible downside to the solderless loom is that, in avoiding any soldering, you are stuck with the pre-determined cable lengths supplied by EMG. This could result in having to cram a whole bunch of "surplus" cabling into a small control cavity.

Re: Wireless EMG Kit?

I used the solderless pots and solderless 3-way in my Caparison...couldn't be any easier. everything is labled nice and pretty...little connectors just slide into place.

This isnt necessarily true. Unless your guitar already has a stereo jack in it then the jack will need to be swapped too.

Re: Wireless EMG Kit?

Awesome. I already have EMG's in my 57' Epi, love it, but I'm about to toss them a set in my Dean Cadi, and I really don't have the time anymore to sit down and wire up guitars.

So no difference in sound? Obviously they will sound different in the Dean, but still be the good EMG sound?

Thanks

My bad. Shoulda specified. The EMG selector switch and jack socket remain installed. Their solderless pickups and accessories are fully interchangable.

Don't like the VLPF? Try an SPC. Want a level booster? Just plug one in instead of the previous Tone control.

I really don't have the time anymore to sit down and wire up guitars.

To misquote Dr. Johnson, "When you are tired of soldering, you are tired of life."

I had them in my old 06 LPC. I hated it. It felt like learning to wire all over again. I'll stick with solder.
