Wiring advice-2 hums 5 way switch?

Hey all... sorry I posted then life went crazy. I got back in here and read the comments. 1- thank you all for trying to help. 2- I apologize for not being clear (it made sense to me lol) 3- sorry for causing any kind of strife.

someone suggested I take a pic of the existing switch and I have. This pic may be a WTF moment for many so let me give some background. I love the way these guitars play but they are just a bit too light, so I got the bright idea to use wheel balance weights which have actually worked well.

So here’s the pic. And I guess I wasn’t as clear with my question so ultimately what I am trying to achieve is this

• Full Humbucker Bridge
• Single coil Bridge
single coil bridge + single coil neck to sound as close to the
bridge + mid on a strat as possible
•Single coil neck
•Full Humbucker neck.

if anyone have questions or advice it’s greatly appreciated!

You're not going to want to hear this, but if that 5-way switch is getting the pickup combinations you mentioned in the first post, then its one of the Ibanez proprietary 5-way switches that is "hard wired" to do certain things. Its not a "super switch" like some of the people here have mentioned.

It may be possible to do what you want with that switch, but your best bet is to get a Dimarzio "super switch". (or an Ibanez VLX 91 switch) That will enable you to wire almost anything.

Look at my post #3, in this thread: https://forum.seymourduncan.com/file...p;d=1597410197

While that doesn't give you the sequence you want, it WILL give you all those combinations while also replacing the one redundant one with the N/B full sound. And, you can do it with the switch you already have. If you definitely want that specific sequence and combinations, then you will need a Superswitch.

That diagram yields combos that are close to what the OP requested but not exact. OP wrote he wants each pickup available as Splitcoil Alone. That diagram only provides Bridge as Splitcoil Alone.

Following is what that diagram yields:
1. Bridge HB
2. Bridge HB / Neck HB
3. Neck HB
4. Neck slug coil / Bridge screw coil
5. Bridge screw coil

Stm113: your guitar has a propietary 5 switch (3PS1SC5) that is limited in how it can be rewired. Ref: http://www2.ibanez.com/parts/2004_PA.../SCA220BP.html

To get the combinations you requested and in the sequence you want, you need a superswitch like the Dimarzio EP1112 or the VLX91. These 2 switches have their lugs laid out in very different patterns. Once you decide on which one you want to acquire, then i can design a diagram for you.

I'll post back shortly w a link to another thread of mine where i wrote up a summarybof the differences btw those 2 switches.

You're right. He changed what he was wanting from post #1 to post #17. The Duncan diagram does do both split together, but only bridge split individually. He's definitely going to need a Superswitch if he doesn't want a push-pull.

Thank you all. I think instead I am going to try to go simpler and go 3 way blade switch and a push/push pot for the splitting.

That's a good move, and something I am moving toward. I have a Music Man with this setup, although it isn't a blade switch, more of a toggle.
