Wiring Diagram Debacle

Greetings all! Tragically, I paid $50.95 to a company for a wiring diagram with specific instructions. This service is advertised on their site, I won’t mention any names but their web address is close to schmaguitar schmelectronics .com.

They say turnaround time is 3-5 days. I ordered on April 8. I received the emailed receipt and confirmation of the order. Eight days later, they emailed a request for a diagram of the pre-amp I have to go in this guitar. I sent it to them within 20 minutes.

I have yet to hear a word back from them. I’ve emailed the two addresses I have for them and have still not heard anything back. I even called the phone number listed on their domain registrar and it did not work.

What would you folks do? Write it off and move on without a schematic of what I’d like to do with this build? Dispute the charge on my card? Just put two single coils and a volume pot in and be ticked off? I don’t know. This is a first for me.

Wiring Diagram Debacle

I’ve never paid for a diagram, because if I’m going to install it, I have to understand it, and if I can understand it, I can draw it myself.

But drawings take time to do and get right, I wouldn’t expect instant turnaround. I’d give it a 5-7 days and check in. Then maybe another 3-4 days and check in. If it’s not done in 2 weeks, I’d ask for a commitment when it will be done, and if they can’t do that, then I’d ask to cancel the order.

Welcome to the forum!
Was it a super complex diagram? I've never paid for a diagram (I start by asking the good people here, first), but after 2 weeks, I'd cancel my order and try to figure it out myself. It is frustrating, but who knows, it could just be 1 guy there...he could have a medical emergency or somethings could have come up.

After all this time you should contact your CC bank and reverse the charges immediately. They usually have a time limit when they allow that.
