This is a cheap Strat 5 way switch, but it looks sturdy. It is an 8 pole switch, but I can find no wiring diagrams for this type 8 pole switch on the web.Its a good 5 dollars cheaper than the next best switch I could find, which is why I'd like to use it. You can see in the pic that 3 pairs of poles are already connected. I contacted the seller and the fool has no wiring diagrams for these switches he is trying to sell. Anyone know how to wire these?

That, my friend, is a two-pole switch. Contacts 1-4 are the first pole. Contacts 5-8 are the second.

The jumper connection between 4 and 5 forms the combined output to a master volume control.

The connections made between contacts 2 and 3 and then, contacts 6 and 7 are as per a budget Telecaster three-way selector. The legend 3P printed on the plastic is a bit of a giveaway. The switch can function in a Stratocaster but you will be forever performing the vintage switch lever balancing act to obtain positions 2 and 4.

For a Stratocaster application, remove the jumpers between 2/3 and 6/7.

1= Bridge PU
2 = Centre PU
3 = neck PU
4 = output

TRADITIONAL SECOND POLE WIRING
5 = traditional link for tone controls
6 = Bridge PU tone connection
7 = Centre PU tone connection
8 = Neck PU tone connection

AUTO COIL SPLIT HSS/HSH WIRING
5 = no connection
6 = Bridge PU coil split wire
7 = Ground
8 = Neck PU coil split wire

Personally, I would save time and trouble by not economising on the selector switch. The price difference is worth less than my time for having to resolder everything a second time in six months.

I have that same brand (Java) switch but it's a proper 5way switch like Funkfingers said. I have one major issue with it. When installed, selecting from neck to bridge & vice-versa, the lever hits real hard at the metal housing which causes a loud 'thud' or knock on the wood sound, otherwise it's okay. I have opened it up and it's different from an alpha. I much prefer the alpha switch over it
