Wiring Diagram for Strat - Tone for Bridge Pup

Hey there, can anyone direct me to a wiring diagram so I can wire up the 2nd tone pot to my bridge pup on my strat? (standard type strat with 2 single coils)
Found some things on the tele forum, but I need something simple and clear.
I understand this is a matter of a jumper wire somewhere?
I am a newb at wiring, so a little limited in my knowledge.
I got a SSL-5 in the bridge, which is absolutely fantastic...but w/o the tone control for it, I need to adjust the Fender Deluxe Reverb's treble knob every time I plug it in. Need a little more control on that pup.
So my goal is to have tone controls for all 3 pups.
I know there's a lot out there- can someone post a good link?
Thanks a lot for your time!

i dont have a diagram. you want the mid tone control to work on the bridge as well or something else?

http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/schematics.php?schematic=3s_1v_2t_5w

if look at this diagram there are eight contacts on the switch. four on the left, four on the right on the right side there is one empty contact.
the bottom contact on that side goes to the neck tone, the next one up goes to the middle, the empty one is for the bridge pup. you would run a jumper wire to the contact that corresponds to the tone control you want to use. so if you wanted to share the middle tone control just run a short wire from the empty contact to the one below it

Hey thanks, I saw this jumper wire configuration suggestion also.
Some people have stated that using the jumper wire would change the tone a little? Is this true in your experience? Hmmmm.
Also, final question - just get some guitar wire to do this, right? Nothing special? Clip ends, solder the wire to each connection?
Thanks again!

Re: Wiring Diagram for Strat - Tone for Bridge Pup

yup nothing special just a little piece of wire, whatever ya got will work.

it will change the tone of the bridge pup cause even on 10 the tone pot bleeds a little highs to ground other than that no.

Will this work? Use the tone cap of your choice.

EDIT: By the way, credit for this pic came from http://soundlogic-usa.com/

Kool....this is something I can do, even in my limited and newb skills at soldering.

Re: Wiring Diagram for Strat - Tone for Bridge Pup

in that pic you are sharing the 1st tone with the neck and middle pups rather than the 2nd tone with the middle and bridge but other than that the idea is the same

Correct. Tone #2 is for the bridge only. From the OP's first sentence that's what I thought he was looking for.

Here is a Middle/Bridge tone mod for those that may be interested ...

Here are a few wiring diagrams in schematic form. The first is standard Strat wiring, the second shifts the rear tone control from the middle to the bridge pup, and the third is like the second except the two tone controls each have their own capacitors rather than sharing one.

...... and now that I've reread your original post I see that you really wouldn't want either of these because there is no tone control for the middle pickup.

Re: Wiring Diagram for Strat - Tone for Bridge Pup

I'm bumping this thread only because I've put off this mod for many years for no good reason, and now I'm going to adjust my strats the way I've always wanted them. 1st tone is neck/middle, and 2nd tone is bridge only.

This is exactly what I'm looking for! 1st tone for both neck/middle, the 2nd for the bridge only. Care to share your schematic? Also, that's going to work fine when in 4th position (neck+middle), right?

Re: Wiring Diagram for Strat - Tone for Bridge Pup

the schematic is in post #5 of this thread
