Wiring for 1 hum 1 volume?

I guess the title says it all, i cant get the wiring for my crappy strat copy right.
I tried the schematics at the duncan site, but it dont seem to work, can somebody please help me?

What kind of problem are you having? It can't get much simpler.

First the volume knob is "reversed", full when it´s supposed to be off.
I cant get it silent when i wanna turn the volyme down, it´s still like half volume.
I tried to switch places beteen the ground and the pickups hot cable on the pot, and then the volume goes the right way, but i still cant get the volume all the way down, and btw it kinda seems like i won´t go to full volume either.
Hope you understand what i´m trying to say :laugh:

Likely a damaged pot or a mistake in the wiring causing signal to bypass the pot.

Still likely a damaged pot... but I see you found the directional fix yourself

I actually replaced the pot beacuse of this, and it´s still the same way,
Well, i´m trying to just rewire the damn thing tonight if i have the time, and see how that goes.

It should look like this:

Make sure you don't forget to ground one end of the pot. That would account for the volume not going all the way down. And you can't just solder to the back of a pot. It must connect to the "sleeve" side of the output jack.

To explain / simplify further: take the lug that the green wire attaches to and either bend it towards the pot casing (and solder it to it as well) or run a "jumper" wire to the back of the pot...that´s the easy way to solve the ground and signal issues together

Yep, sounds like a grounding issue. Cheaper Strat copies often do not have proper sheilding on the pickguard and if yours doesn't have something that looks like foil on the whole backside of the guard then here is what you do.

Get some adhesive spray. You can get it at most hardware and hobby stores. Also get some aluminum foil. Sometimes the cheap stuff works best because it is thinner and easier to work with but use what you can find.

Remove the electronics from the pickguard. Spray the adhesive spray on the backside of the guard and then lay a sheet of foil over the backside of the guard and work out the bubbles until its flat. After the adhesive dries, trim the foil from the pickup openings, screw holes and around the sides. Now you have a solid ground path and sheilding across the whole guard.

Re-install the pots and switch. You can now ground the input jack, cavity ground (if you have a sheilded cavity) and bridge ground wire to the rear tone pot and all the pots as well as the switch will be grounded properly.

Make sure you ground the #1 terminal of the volume pot (right of center - looking at the bottom of the pot) and use the #3 terminal (left of center) as your hot.

Using the foil will make wiring easier and your guitar should be quite a bit quieter.
