Wiring Help

I just leveled and crowned the frets on a friends son's "Vantage" brand electric guitar that they just bought from a yard sale and i find that the guitar doesn't work. I have checked the pickups, switch & pots and everything works its just been wired wrong by the original owner. My question is the guitar has 1 bridge humbucker, 1 neck single coil , 1 vol., 1 tone, 3 way lever switch. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this?

Also any info on finding the positive wire on the single coil would be great as these are Vantage brand pickups and i have no idea of the color codes. :beerchug:

Re: Wiring Help

Sounds like Tele wiring. Go to SD Wiring Diagrams under 'Tele'. There's a diagram that sounds
like yours except for the push-pull pot. Disregard that unless you want to split the HB. As far as
the single goes, generally the black wire is ground, and the white or other color is pos. There are some sites on the web that list color codes also. Hope this is some help!

this was the closest that i could find.

Re: Wiring Help

This diagram is basically the same. It uses 500K pots, 3-way switch and a 500k resistor to lower the pots to around 250k when in the neck position. Maybe someone can look it over to make sure its right?

Re: Wiring Help

Thanks for the diagrams! I guess the part thats got me a little confused is that the 3-way lever switch's lugs look a little different than the standard lever 3 way switch thats usually found. I may just take a pic and and hope you guys can help me figure it out...

Re: Wiring Help

Below is the switch that's in the guitar. After a busy weekend and time to actually think about it am i correct in thinking that this switch is basically the same and that all of the solder lugs are in the same position as the switch in the diagrams above, they are all just bent in the same direction?
