Wiring help!

I could use a bit of help. I've got my guitar wired up using this diagram. HH. Bridge humbucker has the magnet reversed so in the middle position I get the two inside slug coils in parallel (with phase and hum cancelling intact). DiMarzio EP1111 4pdt three way switch. One vol pot no tone. I'd like to add a switch (possibly a fender s1 vol pot) to add switching so in the middle position of the EP1111 I can select inside slug coils in parallel (currently) OR the outside screw coils in parallel.

There are DiMarzio diagrams that have this but without the reversed bridge magnet! Which I want to keep (they flip the whole neck pickup around to do something similar). The reversed magnet and reversed wires are confusing me.

Plus I'm using SD pickups so between the different wiring colors, flipped mag, flipped wires because of the flipped mag I'm swimming in confusion. 4CD0A966-4167-4CBD-96F9-D43C1FEF2871.jpg

Can someone help out with a diagram that would allow me to do this. I love this wiring scheme but want to add a 4th voicing. Thanks in advance.

Re: Wiring help!

You only need one side of a push-pull to do that. On the bottom half of that switch, there's a wire that goes to ground. Cut that wire and connect it to the center lug of a push-pull. Now take the bottom lug of the p-p and reconnect it to ground. (The wire where you cut it.) Take the top lug of the p-p and connect it to the wire that goes to the center lug of the top half of that switch. Or, to make it easier to solder, to lug on the volume control. In other words, you merely have to switch that wire from hot to ground. Ground will give you the slug coils, and hot will give you the screw coils.

Make sense?

Re: Wiring help!

Yes. Thank you. That looks pretty straight forward. I'm going to order my parts (and I think swap out the pickup) and probably do the mod this upcoming weekend and will report back. The cutting and attaching of the ground wires ("black") to the P-P appears straight forward, but just to clarify I could solder a wire from the other outside lug of the P-P straight to the same lug of the volume control that the "white" wire in this diagram is attached to instead of attaching it straight to the wire (as in the diagram that you so kindly drew for me)? Is that correct?

And again, thank you, I've posted this in a couple of forums and contacted DiMarzio directly for a solution with no response or helpful folks who didn't know how to help. This forum rocks.

Re: Wiring help!

Yes, exactly. Anywhere along that white wire is electrically the same. The volume lug would be the most logical choice. I probably should have drawn it that way, but I was lazy. :D

Re: Wiring help!

Sorry to necro this thread but life got in the way and I'm finally getting around to rewire my guitar. I've got it all wired up using a cts push pull. Attached is the wiring diagram I used based on the earlier diagram provided. It all works correctly when the pot is pushed but when I pull the pot in the middle position I do get the outside coils but I also get a slight signal when I tap on the inside coils with a screwdriver too. And when I select bridge or neck with the knob up I get all the coils in both positions. I double checked my soldering and wiring but that doesn't mean I didnt still screw something up. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Wiring help!

Okay so after some more playing and testing this is what I get in all the positions...
Push pull down
Bridge
Inside slug coils in parallel
Neck

Push pull up
Bridge + outer screw coil from the neck
Outer screw coils in parallel
Neck + outer screw coil from the bridge

I'm guessing this is the way it's supposed to work I was just thinking only the middle position would change when I pulled the push pull up. I'm actually kind of digging the new combinations and versatility for a guitar with a three way, push pull and a volume.
