i wired it up to this (deaf eddies) spec. it only worked in the neck pos on the switch. and the neck/middle pos was kinda weak, it was dead in every other pos. i thought it was the push pull, so i used a different pot, same results, then a different switch, same results.....:yell:

i did the ohmeter test and it reads about 4.5 in the neck pos and 2 in the neck/mid pos. it spikes out at all the other positions...at about 2k...according to this (scroll down to the ohmeter test spot...) i have "Bad wiring between volume pot and jack, or bad volume pot."

is it possible to get a bad pot? EVERYTHING on this guitar is brand new, as i wanted to build a new strat.... another question would be : should i try to separate the drain wires from the ground wires? these lipstick tubes have three wires: white, black and bare i have rewired it about five times and all i want to do is to get it setup so i can move on to intonating and then jam a little. it was my birthday yesterday and i treated myself to this guitar, a few hours of wiring and only one pup works....:yell: pissed, i went to bed and woke up to a day of troubleshooting and i cant figure this out... i have never had this much trouble with my guitars before.....

someone please help me, i feel like an idiot:smack:

what is a drain wire anyway?

Try going from the switch straight to the jack with no other controls. If its a bad pot, you'll know right then and there.

thanks, i used an ohmeter and found out that the new switch is assigned the opposite of the old one..... same switch though. crazy, it works now. sounds great too.
