I didnt know what was causing the ground noise on my jaguar, so i just connected my bridge pickup directly to the jack.

it works fine now.

however i cant decide if i want this to be a one pickup, no vol or tone guitar.

what would you guys do?

like i said, it works fine now, but its a one trick pony. help?

Re: Wiring options?

i'd try adding a vol pot, and assuming there's no noise, add a tone pot and so on untill you've found the problem

well the thing is...

its not like les paul wiring.

as you can see, the bridge pickup is supposed to go up towards a control plate.

the neck one goes left and up to another circuit, then through 1 wire that goes to the volume then tone then jack.

its complicated.

i didnt know what the noise was, and grew so frustrated i decided to just wire it to the jack.

i thought about it because i have a tuner pedal i can turn on whenever i need to be quiet.

its not like i really used the neck or tone knob for anything either.

it just feels so out of control.

are there any benefits to running it straight to the jack though?

Re: Wiring options?

hmm, you could try and wire it up like a tele

the only thing i can think of is you would get the true sound of the pickups without any grounded frequencies. should be brighter. someone else might have more to say about this
